About Me

Tracy Williams, born a Mississippi Girl in Pearl River County.

Welcome to My Hometown Column, where Southern stories, faith, humor, and everyday life meet on the front porch.

I worked as a Newspaper Lifestyle Editor for the Picayune Item. My Hometown Column was featured weekly in the newspaper and in the Cnhi.inc publish newspapers in 250 cities. I was editor of Pearl River County magazine, Managing editor for Life on the Water Magazine and Faith and Family Magazine. I wrote many articles for all styles of publishing. I also was a media liaison for the Lower Pearl River Valley Foundation, a non-profit organization.

As I moved from my hometown of Picayune, Mississippi, I continued my column and realized with the technology of the day, the world has grown smaller. Where you lay your head and raise a family is your hometown.

After a few years, the newspaper company was sold and blogging was my only source for My Hometown, and now it is back on, relaunched in several media forms.
